Dear SJ,

Tx for the news. She was my class teacher in L3C. From memory, you too might have been in that
class with me. It was in the L3 when I received my first 'cut' from JHSP in the L3A class.
Mr Hallock who taught us Divinity put my name in the "Complaints Book,' how I pleaded with
JHS to spare me. He, of course, had heard it all before and he towered over me, tossed me like
a ragged doll and brought his cane down to send a shiver of absolute pain up my spine!
At the time the now late Mrs Jayakuru taught me she was pregnant - perhaps her first child.
She may well have been exhausted teaching us but such were the times there was no special
consideration - that I could see - extended to a pregnant lady.

May her soul rest in peace.

Dear Lasath,
Thanks for sharing the news.
I too remember her well. She was a very good teacher.
I remember she was class teacher of 1C. I was in 1A and when Mrs.Karunaratne was on leave, she used to take care of our class along with Mrs.Wickremanayake of 1B. Anil’s mom was also my teacher.

May her Soul Rest In Peace.

LSV.

Dear Sriyan,

Thank you for the notice. She taught me and my Brothers as well.
It is sad but inevitable as we all have to go through this individually.

I will pass it on to my classmates.

On another matter, If you recall, there was a recent email to vote for our Cricket Captain Delon Peiris.
I have lost it in my computer. If possible can you email it to me.

Thank you for the great service you are doing.

Best regards,
DJ Amarasuriya

Thanks Sri. Sad news. I remember her twisting my ear lobe several times. What surprised me was that I was such a good boy & did not deserve punishment.

My Dear Sriyan,

Many thanks for keeping us updated about College and our teachers. It was with sadness I read of Mrs Kalupahana’s passing. I had the good fortune of seeing her a few years ago when she was in Mt Lavininia. I visited her at her place. Do you know where her brother, who also taught at College lives?

I guess you are aware that Errol Fernando, is I understand not very financially sound.

Thanks for circulating Ronnie’s message.

In my retirement time I am interested in talking about medical matters and lifestyle issues with the general public. I was wondering if you will have a look at my website https://mahendraperera.com and popularise it. I am trying to get as many sign ups for the newsletter as possible.

I will be in Colombo in February. Like to meet you if you are around in Colombo.

Regards,

MH
